Qualifying Video Rules

Accepted Answer

1. Performance LengthQualifying routine must be 60 seconds in length.
2. One Continuous PerformanceThe routine must be recorded in one continuous take.No edits, cuts, transitions, or visual effects.
3. Original PerformanceThe performance must be your own work.Competitors may not submit another DJ's routine or choreography.
4. Scratch-Focused RoutineThe qualifying video should primarily showcase scratching.Beat juggling and performance elements are permitted but should support the overall scratch performance.
5. Video RequirementsThe camera must clearly show:Both handsTurntablesMixerPerformance throughout the entire routine
Videos that do not clearly display the performance may be disqualified.
6. AudioAudio must be recorded live with the performance.No replacing or enhancing the audio after recording.Minor mastering or volume normalization is acceptable if it does not alter the performance.
7. EquipmentAny DJ equipment may be used, including:TurntablesDVS systemsControllers (if scratching)Any mixerAny cartridges or needles
The live finals will be performed on the official tournament equipment.
8. MusicCompetitors are responsible for obtaining any necessary rights to the music used in their submission.
9. File SubmissionAll videos must be submitted via the form on dmcdjchamps.us/scratch10. Submission DeadlineAll entries must be submitted before the published application deadline.Late submissions will not be accepted.

Competitor Responsibilities

Accepted Answer

By submitting a qualifying video, competitors agree that:
They are available to compete in person on September 19, 2026.They are responsible for their own travel and accommodations to Glendale, California.DMC USA may use submitted videos, photos, and names for promotional purposes.The judging panel's decisions are final and not subject to appeal.AI & AuthenticityAll performances must be performed live by the competitor. AI-generated performances, manipulated video, or digitally altered scratch audio are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification.
